Photographs may be more memorable than moving film, because they are a neat slice of time, not a flow.

True Story

It is my last day on campus.  I am getting ready to hop in a cab and head to the airport.  All year long I had this long distance crush on a guy that lived in my dorm.  He was just too gorgeous.  We lived on different planes of existence.  He lived on the super beautiful people plane and my plane was just a little out of reach from his.  I never ever talked to him.  As I am getting in the cab, the driver asks me if it would be okay if I shared the cab with another student.  I graciously agreed.  No problem.  As we are waiting there I had no idea who to expect.  Something like this has never happened to me in my life before or since this occasion.  There he was.  Walking towards my general direction.  I am thinking to myself, “No way!”  But yes, he gets into my cab!  We chatted a bit.  Found out that he was going back home to California and that I was going back home to Texas.  Realized that we had a few art classes together.  He told me he was going to declare ComDesign as his major next semester and I told him I was going to be a photography major.  We pulled up to the departures gate and just wished each other a great summer vacation.  For a few minutes our planes of existence intersected.  He was perfect and I am thankful that that will never change for me.  His name was Andrew.
